“Members helping members” has always been the underlying rallying cry of credit unions. Verity Credit Union wanted to take this a step further by creating Give With Us, an online forum that connects those that want to give their time and talent with organizations and individuals in need of assistance.
Verity has a track record of supporting their members and staff in their pursuit of volunteerism. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our members during our fundraising campaigns for Tsunami Relief and Hurricane Katrina. Verity employees participate in United Way events and have created its own campaign, Verity Encourages Resources for Back to School or “VERBs” to raise money for local schools in need of school supplies. You can also find us cleaning our own stretch of I-5 thanks to the state’s Adopt a Highway program.
Give With Us is our way of connecting with the communities we serve and our members who live within them. Opportunities on Give With Us can range from scheduled, one-time events to long-term volunteer positions. And, postings aren’t limited to large, known charitable organizations—individuals, neighborhood or grassroots groups that need assistance can post here, too. After all, charity begins at home.
